Passionate about technology and innovation, Flores’ dynamic leadership is helping push Michigan’s tech and mobility landscape to the next level.
Beyond the professional Jose L. Flores is deeply committed to making a positive impact in his community. He actively participates in various charitable endeavors and is involved in several organizations.
Jose L. Flores is a visionary leader known for shaking up industries and challenging what people think is possible. As CEO of Ancor he has transformed the company from a traditional supplier into a multi-industry powerhouse at the forefront of technology, data and real world solutions that deliver where it counts. Under his leadership Ancor has been named one of the Best Places to Work for two years running which reflects the culture of trust, grit and bold ideas he expects every day.
Flores brings a truly global perspective to every challenge he takes on. He has lived and worked across more than six countries and believes that the best solutions happen when people with different backgrounds show up ready to build together not just talk.
He has driven Ancor’s expansion far beyond mobility into industries like healthcare, retail and advanced asset tracking building solutions powered by AI, smart connectivity and real time data that break down barriers and actually get the job done.
Ask anyone who works with him and they will tell you Flores is disruptive for the right reasons. He is vocal about what needs to change. He calls out excuses. He pushes people out of their comfort zones because he knows real growth never happens when you stay in the same place. He is relentless about turning good ideas into action and challenging his teams to keep raising the bar.
His leadership has earned him recognition as National Hispanic Businessperson of the Year by the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, DBusiness Magazine’s 30 in Their Thirties and Crain’s Detroit 40 Under 40 to name a few.
Flores is also deeply committed to giving back and lifting up others who want to break limits and build legacies of their own. He serves on the boards of the Detroit Regional Chamber, Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, New Economy Initiative and Detroit Cristo Rey High School, to name some. He is a member of Michigan State University’s Green and White Council where he helps develop strategies to keep talent in Michigan and connect education and industry for real results.
Some facts people do not always see. Flores worked consulting in several industries before stepping into the CEO seat. He holds an Executive MBA from Michigan State University and completed several executive education at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and Harvard Business School.
For Flores it all comes down to one thing. Break the limit. Build the legacy. And never be quiet about what is possible when people trust each other enough to do the real work together.
