Leadership doesn’t happen in silos. That is what I took with me to Harvard Business School this month as part of the Young American Leaders Program. This program brings together leaders from fourteen cities across the country to tackle one big question. How do we build inclusive growth that leads to real shared prosperity.

The Detroit Regional Chamber plays a big role here. They make sure Detroit’s cohort is diverse connected and prepared. They fundraise cover stipends and help get us ready to deliver before we even step on campus.

I carried my father’s wish with me when I walked onto that campus. He came home from Boston twenty one years ago with a Harvard t-shirt and a hope I would get there someday. He is no longer with us but that promise felt real standing there alongside 139 other leaders all focused on the same thing.

Our Detroit team did not sit back. We pushed forward D313 an AI powered phone line to help people navigate city resources complete forms and break through barriers that hold too many back. Simple. Practical. Real. That is how Detroit solves problems. That is how we move closer to true shared prosperity.

This experience lines up with what we are building at Ancor. Tech that solves real problems not just looks good in a pitch. That mindset drives everything we do. Break limits. Build legacies.

Coming back from Harvard I am more convinced than ever that Detroit has the people ideas and grit to lead. When we stay connected across sectors we keep this region moving forward and make sure progress reaches everyone.
